Pedestrian Killed In Brooklyn Park Hit-And-Run

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) – Police say a pedestrian was fatally hit on a Twin Cities-area highway by two vehicles that didn't stop after the collisions.

The Minnesota State Patrol said Meshu Bulto Lamu, 61, was hit Tuesday night at about 6:52 p.m. near Highway 252 on the border of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park. A patrol spokesman says Lamu was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Lamu died of blunt force head and torso injuries sustained from the collision.

The State Patrol is looking for a dark sedan and a red SUV or minivan that left the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Police say the road was dry and there didn't appear to be any hazards at the time. The incident is currently under investigation.
