Girl, 16, Killed By Freight Train In Anoka Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The pedestrian struck dead by a train Sunday night has been identified as a teenage girl.

Carolyn Gallagher, 16, died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the Anoka County Medical Examiner.

Gallagher was struck around 8:30 p.m. in Anoka County where the tracks cross North Ferry Street, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office,

The railroad is operated by BNSF.

A BNSF representative told WCCO that the pedestrian was not at a designated crossing.

The incident is still being investigated.
