Pay It Forward Challenge: Monticello Church Gives Cash Out To Congregation

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Usually on Sundays, churches pass around a plate asking for donations. But one Minnesota church passed out envelopes full of money to the congregation instead.

Quarry Community Church in Monticello surprised each family at services this morning with $100. If they take it, they have to pay it forward by helping someone else this holiday season.

"This is something most people don't think about.'I can't do this because I don't have the means, or I don't have the time.' We're creating that space for people to think about something like this," Pastor Michael Grose said.

The church plans to give away about $10,000. In two weeks, they'll share with the church how the money was spent.
