Patrol: Teen Dies In Rollover Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A teenager is dead after a speeding PT Cruiser went off road and rolled several times Saturday night in southern Minnesota.

The State Patrol says the PT Cruiser was speeding just after 10 p.m. on westbound Highway 60 near the town of Madelia in Watonwan County. The Cruiser then entered the center median and rolled, throwing two of the car's four occupants from the vehicle.

One passenger, 16-year-old Ross Blomgren of Butterfield, died in the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The 17-year-old driver and two other teenage passengers, all of which are from Butterfield, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and were hospitalized.

The State Patrol says the highway's surface was wet at the time of the crash.
