Patrol: Man, 49, Killed In Collision With Horse

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota State Patrol says a 49-year-old Cromwell man lost his life after colliding with a horse on a Carlton County road Sunday evening.

According to the patrol, the victim's vehicle, a 2008 Chevy Cobalt, was traveling westbound on Highway 210 at Spring Lake Road when it struck a horse in the roadway. The accident fatally injured the driver, identified as Richard Godbout. The passenger, a 49-year-old Texas man, was taken to the hospital, but was listed by the patrol as having no apparent injuries.

After the victim's car struck the horse, a second vehicle traveling westbound also struck the horse in the roadway. There were no apparent injuries to the driver or passenger.
