Patrol: 1 Dead, 2 Injured After Head-On Crash In Mahnomen Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person died and two people were injured Sunday morning in northern Minnesota following a head-on crash on Highway 113.

The State Patrol says the crash happened just before 9:30 a.m. near the intersection with 200th Avenue.

A Chevrolet Lumina driven by 68-year-old James E. Salyer, of Madison, Miss., was traveling south on 200th and didn't stop for a sign at the intersection. The car then collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck, and its driver was killed. That driver was identified by the State Patrol as 25-year-old Nathan G. Boe of Crookston.

The Salyer and his passenger, 65-year-old Sheila F. Salyer of Madison, Miss., suffered non-life threatening injuries. Emergency crews took them to a local hospital for treatment.

The State Patrol was assisted by the Mahnomen County Sheriff's Department, White Earth Police Department, Mahnomen Ambulance and White Earth Ambulance.
