Patrick Henry High School Cancels Classes After Overnight Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Classes have been canceled at a Minneapolis high school after a fire broke out overnight, according to Minneapolis Public Schools.

According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, crews responded to a call just after 2 a.m. Thursday of a fire at Patrick Henry High School.

Officials said they believe the fire started at a work station in a chemistry lab on the north side of the school.

Firefighters said sprinklers did their job, but there is now a lot of water to clean up.

Damage was also done to the chemistry lab on the northwest side of the school.

Shortly after 5 a.m. Minneapolis Public Schools announced via Twitter that classes would be canceled at Patrick Henry. Around 5:50 a.m. MPS announced via Twitter that all activities would be canceled for the day as well.

No one was hurt in the fire. Crews are still investigating.
