Packer Fans Don 'Cheesy' Scarves For A Good Cause
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - The Green Bay Packers play for the NFC Championship at 2 p.m. Sunday.
And many Packer fans will be wearing "Cheesy Scarves" with cheese holes in them.
They are made at the New Community Shelter in Green Bay.
But they can't make them fast enough.
They've had orders for more than 6,000 scarves.
They've cleared out all the big bolts of yellow fleece from the area craft stores.
Volunteers and shelter residents work side by side on the one-of-a-kind scarves.
Each one takes half an hour to make.
Two local businesses have volunteered to do some of the embroidery work.
The profits will be used to help homeless people become self-sufficient.
It costs just $5 for a plain cheesy scarf and $10 if you want it customized.
Shipping is extra.
