Overnight Fire Damages Roseville Home

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An early morning garage fire spread throughout a Roseville home early Tuesday morning, fire officials said.

According to officials, firefighters received a call just after 2 a.m. of a fire in the 2200 block of Marion Road.

The home belonged to a couple who was living there with their grandson while he attended medical school at the University of Minnesota.

According to the family, the grandson heard the CO alarm go off and woke up his parents. When his grandfather went to turn off the boiler, he discovered the flames in the back garage.

The flames spread quickly from the garage to the rear of the home.

The Roseville Fire Chief said it took roughly an hour to knock out the flames.

All three people, and their dog, were able to make it out safely.

There is no word on what caused the fire. The incident is still under investigation.
