Police: Co. 112 Down To 1 Lane In Orono After Crash Involving Semi

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – County Road 112 will be down to one lane Wednesday afternoon as officials continue to clean up after a crash involving a semi tractor-trailer.

According to the Orono Police Department, during the early morning rush hour a driver pulled out in front of a semi on Co. 112, causing the semi to crash.

Shortly following the crash, police thought they may have a hazardous materials situation as the semi was leaking a substance onto the road. It was later determined this was diesel fuel.

County Road 112 was closed as police began to clean up the accident.

As Highway 12 is also currently closed, officers had to divert Co. 112 traffic from Hwy. 12 to County Road 6.

County Road 112 will be down to one lane so officials can remove the semi. Removal is expected to take up to two hours.

Orono police said they hope to have it gone by the afternoon rush hour.
