Ohio Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of Minor

NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (WCCO) -- A 22-year-old man appeared in St. Croix County Circuit Court Monday afternoon after he was charged with the sexual assault of a minor on Saturday.

According to New Richmond Police, an officer noticed a vehicle parked in Woodland Creek Park shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday with Ohio license plates.

The officer found two males undressed inside, and after questioning found their ages were 22 and 15.

The 22-year-old man, a resident of Cridersville, Ohio, told the officer he drove to Wisconsin to meet the teen, whom he had met online.

The man was taken to St. Croix County Jail, and was charged with second-degree sexual assault of a minor.

New Richmond Police are jointly investigating the case with Ohio and federal authorities.
