Officials: Man May Be Charged For Shooting Deer Eating His Flowers

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials say an Eden Prairie man will likely face charges after he allegedly shot a deer with a pellet gun, and authorities had to dispose of it.

The incident happened Friday afternoon when city police say they were called to the 18800 block of Pheasant Circle on a report of a man walking around with a gun.

Officers showed up with guns drawn and found the man, with a pellet gun. The man had shot a deer, police say, because it was eating his flowers.

The deer suffered enough injuries that police disposed of it.

The Department of Natural Resources is investigating the incident. Department officials say the man, who has not been named, will likely face misdemeanor charges.
