Officials: Extra Security Presence At Highland Park M.S. After Social Media Threat
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There will be an extra presence of security and St. Paul police at Highland Park Middle School Tuesday due to a social media threat.
According to school officials, staff at the school were made aware Monday afternoon of a widely shared social media post with threatening language about the school.
"Staff immediately contacted the district's Security and Emergency Management team, who is working closely with Saint Paul Police to investigate," St. Paul Public Schools said in a statement.
The district security team and St. Paul police will have an extra presence at the school.
"Please know that we take all threats seriously and fully investigate any perceived threat made at our school. We will message updates as the investigation continues," the school district said.
Classes will resume as scheduled.
