Officials: Chicago Man Charged In North Mpls. Double Homicide

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Hennepin County officials say a Chicago man faces murder charges in connection to the shooting Wednesday morning that left two men dead in north Minneapolis.

Brian Deshawn Morse, 21, is charged with two counts of second-degree murder, according to Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman. Morse is slated to make his first court appearance Friday.

Officials say Morse was arrested Wednesday morning shortly after the shooting on the 4500 block of Penn Avenue when an officer, who just happened to be in the area, saw him toss a gun over a fence.

The officer chased after him and another man, but the other suspect got away.

Officials have yet to name the shooting victims, but family members identified one of the men as Odell Frazier, a father of nine.

Police said the shooting did not appear to be random.
