Officers Investigating Homicide In St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – St. Paul police say a man died Friday evening following a shooting at a gas station on the city's east side.

Officers were called to the BP on the intersection of Maryland and White Bear avenues just after 6:30 p.m., and they found the victim inside the store.

The victim is believed to be in his 20s, police say, and initial information has it that the shooting took place in the gas station parking lot.

The shooter got away, but investigators have some suspect information and are following up on leads, police say.

The victim's identity has not yet been released. Police say they are working with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office to positively identify the man.

This is the first homicide in St. Paul since the new year.
