Northwestern Health Sciences Hosts Fundraiser To Fight Hunger

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- College students in the Twin Cities are trying to help the hungry.

Northwestern Health Sciences University students hosted an "Empty Bowls" lunch on Sunday. People were given soup and bread donated by local restaurants. The bowls used were also given by local artists.

Attendees were asked to give a $20 donation. All the money raised will go to two hunger-prevention nonprofits based in the Twin Cities. The fundraiser comes before World Food Day, which is Oct. 16.
