North Minneapolis Shooting Victim ID'd

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim of a fatal shooting in north Minneapolis Tuesday afternoon.

Twenty-five-year-old Melvonta Jermaine Jacox, of Coon Rapids, was shot in the head in the front yard of a home on the 2600 block of Irving Avenue North just before 4 p.m.

He died about 13 hours later at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

Minneapolis police are still investigating.
