1 Dead, 2 Arrested In North Minneapolis Homicide

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police say one person is dead after an argument ended in gunfire in north Minneapolis Monday evening.

Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation at 21st Avenue and Ilion Avenue North around 7:40 p.m. At the scene they found a crashed vehicle, inside of which was a man, later identified as 33-year-old Nathaniel NMN Smith of Dolton, Ill., with a gunshot wound.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they have arrested two men in connection with the shooting. They do not believe there are any other suspects.

The shooting was the result of an argument between Smith and the two suspects, according to police.
