6 Displaced In North Minneapolis House Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A north Minneapolis home is damaged following a fire early Friday morning.

According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, just before 7 a.m. officers received a call of a house fire on the 4900 block of Penn Avenue N.

Upon arrival, the found smoke coming from the second floor. Four adults, one teen and one child were evacuating the house.

Further investigation found that fire began in a second floor closet. It was knocked down withing 15 minutes.

Everyone was able to get out of the house safely.

One person reportedly has cuts and burns to the hands, but no other injuries were reported. All six occupants are in the care of the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
