Nolan In For Another Term In Congress

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — U. S. Rep. Rick Nolan plans to seek another term representing Minnesota's 8th congressional district next year.

The 71-year-old DFL congressman is in his fifth term in the House and his second representing the voters of northeastern and central Minnesota. Nolan narrowly defeated Mills Fleet Farm heir Stewart Mills in the swing district in November. A Republican candidate has not yet emerged.

Nolan previously represented Minnesota's 6th congressional district from 1975 to 1981. He re-entered politics in 2011 and went on to defeat first-term incumbent Chip Cravaack in November 2012.

After deciding not to run for re-election in 1980, Nolan served as president of the U.S. Export Corporation until 1986 and became president of the Minnesota World Trade Center from 1987 to 1994.
