Nicollet Mall Closed To Bus Traffic Starting Monday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Beginning Monday morning, you won't see any buses driving down Nicollet Mall for a while.

Work will be underway on the Nicollet Mall project and during the 2015 construction season, the work will primarily consist of the installation or repairing of utility systems. The Minneapolis Public Works Department has begun some work on improvements to their water distribution system. CenterPoint Energy continues their work installing a new gas main on 9th Street.

Beginning Monday, all bus traffic will move off the mall for construction. Here is where to find the temporary locations of bus routes and bus stops.

The planning and design phase for this project is not finished.

Beginning July 6, Nicollet Mall buses will move to Marquette, 2nd and 3rd avenues between Washington Avenue and Grant Street. This detour affects routes 10, 11, 17, 18, 25, 59 and 568 - it will continue through 2017.
