NEXT Weather Alert: Tuesday could bring 6+ inches of snow to parts of Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS -- Tuesday will be a NEXT Weather Alert day as a winter storm threatens parts of Minnesota with 6-plus inches of snow.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect Tuesday in the metro due to the potential of 4-7 inches of snow.

Light snow will start falling before sunrise Tuesday, and it will affect the morning commute. Temperatures will slip by afternoon as the wind picks up. The snow will continue through the evening commute and wrap up shortly after that.    

 Wednesday will be windy and cold with highs 15-degrees below average.  It will feel like the single digits in the wind.

We warm back to the 30s Thursday and Friday.
