NEXT Weather Alert: Several days of light snowfall begins Monday morning

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota is about to have its second widespread snow event of the season.

Flakes will start to fly in northwestern Minnesota overnight, before spreading into the central part of the state just in time for the Monday morning commute. Accumulation will be light, but it will make for some slick roadways.

Snow showers continue through Tuesday, bringing about 1-2" for central Minnesota. There will be a break in the snow Wednesday before another inch or so possible Thursday.

By Saturday morning, most of the state will have had an accumulation of 3-4 inches of snow, with the metro on the low end. The Arrowhead could see well above 6 inches.

Temperatures stay cold, with highs in the low 30s and lows in the 20. It will get even colder for Friday into the weekend. It will stay dry for the rest of the week, but it will be cloudy.
