NEXT Weather: Rain expected during the weekend, but most of Mother's Day could be spared

NEXT Weather: 6 p.m. report from May 13, 2023

MINNEAPOLIS -- It'll be a rainy Saturday - especially in southern Minnesota - though the clouds are expected to clear out on Sunday.

Thunderstorms and heavy rain are possible. There's also a possibility for severe weather, including tornados, in southwest and south-central parts of the state from the mid-afternoon through early evening.

By Mother's Day on Sunday, some rain could still be lingering in southern Minnesota during the morning. By afternoon, it could be quite pleasant, and perfect for afternoon get-togethers.

Saturday will barely reach 70 and Sunday is expected to be in the mid-60s.

Monday could turn out to be a #Top10WxDay, as there will be lots of sunshine and temps in the high 70s. Tuesday and Wednesday will also be quite lovely, though it will be more windy than Monday.
