Next Internet Cat Video Festival Back On The Hill
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Much like the cat who came back the very next day, the phenomenally popular Internet Cat Video Festival will be making its return to the hill behind the Walker Art Center this summer.
The 2012 edition of the festival -- conceived largely as a lark -- was so unexpectedly popular that it was relocated last year into the Grandstand during the Minnesota State Fair. More than 10,000 people reportedly showed up to the festival to see cute, funny videos of cats they'd already very likely bookmarked in YouTube earlier.
The program has toured a number of other cities, as well.
Now, it returns to its origins. The 2014 edition will be held at the Walker's Open Field on Thursday, Aug. 14.
And those who skipped last year's fest because it would've required paying an admission fee will be please to know that the forthcoming fest -- which will be programmed by cat video producer Will Braden -- will once again be a free community event.
