New York Times Stirs Things Up Again With 'Green Pea Guacamole'
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Remember back in November when the New York Times offended an entire state by saying Minnesota's favorite Thanksgiving dish was grape salad? Well, they've done it again -- this time to people everywhere over guacamole.
The Times published a controversial recipe Wednesday suggesting that English garden peas should be added to the dip.

Social media predictably went nuts. People are even saying they're cancelling their Times subscription. The hashtag #guacamolegate has been trending ever since.
President Obama even weighed in on Twitter, saying he respects the Times, but he's not buying into the idea of peas in guacamole.
Republican presidential Jeb Bush agreed, saying, "you don't put peas in guacamole."
