New Twin Cities Studio Offers 24-Hour Yoga

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If yoga is your thing, you know how important and sometimes difficult it is to fit in a session.

A new Twin Cities studio is designed to make yoga fit around your schedule. The Yogafit Studio in Excelsior is trying a new concept with 24-hour availability. Sarah Fischer, the general manager of Yogafit Studio, is the mind behind the first-of-its-kind studio.

She said they offer both live classes with instructors in the studio as well as virtual classes through a program called "Fitness On Demand." It's a kiosk with a access to several videos depending on what type of yoga you want to participate in.

"You practice yoga just like you would in a regular class with instructors," Fischer said.

It works a lot like a health club membership, with members getting access keys to the Excelsior building in case they want to do their yoga during non-business hours. The aim is to remove the intimidation factor with beginners taking yoga classes in groups and letting people do it on their own time to get comfortable with it before taking it to the next level.

"We want to take away that intimidation and that stigma, make it accessible to every single body," Fischer said.
