New Richmond Correctional Facility Escapee Caught

UPDATE (5:30 p.m.) Andre Lee Vance was located and arrested in Madison, Wisconsin Friday afternoon.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The New Richmond Police Department says one of the three inmates who escaped from a corrections facility has been captured.

Kyle Peterson was arrested at around 7 a.m. Friday. Police found him in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

Peterson, Jesse Fairley, and Andre L. Vance escaped from the minimum-security St. Croix County Correctional Center late Wednesday night.

A stolen vehicle was reported about three miles north of New Richmond, which authorities said may be related to the escape. It was found late Thursday.

The three inmates were at the corrections facility for non-violent crimes, ranging from vehicular theft and drug possession to burglary and forgery.

Officials said on Thursday the three inmates will face new charges once found, and they won't likely return to the St Croix County Correctional Center.
