New Renderings Unveiled For Target Center Redesign

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Twin Cities residents are getting a new look at how Target Center officials hope to redesign the Minneapolis facility.

On Monday, renderings were released that show a freshened appearance for the 23-year-old structure.

The specs call for an improved traffic flow at the entrance and exits of the Target Center, with a look that is intended to integrate more smoothly into the adjacent downtown area.

The Minneapolis City Council's Community Development & Regulatory Services Committee on Tuesday approved a contract with Architectural Alliance and Sink Combs Dethlefs to handle design and engineering concerns.

The entire city council is expected to vote on whether to approve the chosen design teams on May 23.
