New NDSU Football Coach Names 3 More Assistants

FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- New North Dakota State head football coach Chris Klieman has named three more assistants.

Atif Austin will coach wide receivers, Joe Klanderman the defensive backs and Tyler Roehl the tight ends and fullbacks.

Austin was the running backs coach at Stetson last season with previous stops at Northern Iowa and Southwest Minnesota State. Klanderman spent the past 12 seasons at Minnesota State Mankato, including the last seven as defensive coordinator.

Former Bison tailback and fullback Roehl spent the past two seasons as the defensive coordinator and running backs coach at Moorhead High School in Minnesota.

Klieman was named the 30th head coach in NDSU history on Dec. 15. He succeeds Craig Bohl, who left for Wyoming after winning three straight Football Championship Subdivision titles with the Bison.
