Minnesota's First State Park In A Quarter Century Opens

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota's newest state park is now open to visitors.
Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park is a three and a half hour long drive north of the Twin Cities.
The state bought the land and its undeveloped shoreline from U.S. Steel in 2010.
Minnesota has since put in hiking trails, boat landings and WiFi towers.
The park includes a $7 million campground, great fishing and even underground mine tours.
The last state park to open was back in 1992.
