Restaurant Courts Controversy With 'Black Olives Matter' T-Shirts

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A restaurant in New Mexico is under fire for the merchandise it created to promote one of its menu items.

Last month, the Paisano's Italian restaurant in Albuquerque put a sign out front that said "Black Olives Matter...try our tapenade" to promote one of its specials.

It caused outrage on social media, and the owner took down the sign.

But now the restaurant is in the spotlight again.

They've created T-shirts and hats to sell that have the same phrase.

The restaurant's owner told the CBS affiliate in Albuquerque that he wasn't trying to offend anyone, but just trying to sell food.
