New London Student Offered Ride By Stranger

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office is concerned after a middle school student walking back from school in New London, Minnesota, was offered a ride by a stranger.

The New London-Spicer student was walking toward downtown on Highway 9 around 4:15 p.m. when a man in a white car honked at him.

The car then made a U-turn, and the man asked the student if he wanted a ride.

The student declined and walked toward town.

The student described the stranger as a large man with very short hair in his mid-30s. The student believed the license plate included the numbers "999."
