New Hope Man, 22, Seriously Injured In ATV Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities airlifted a 22-year-old New Hope man to the hospital after he was seriously injured in an ATV crash Saturday afternoon, according to the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office.

On Saturday at 5:31 p.m., the sheriff's office was alerted to an ATV crash on County Road 9 west of Becida. Upon arrival, deputies found the victim, Tyler McKinnon, injured in the ditch.

An investigation determined McKinnon was riding a Honda Rancher ATV in the ditch when he struck a culver located at an approach. He was then thrown from the ATV and suffered head and shoulder injuries.

McKinnon was airlifted to Essential Health in Fargo, North Dakota. He was not wearing a helmet.
