New Hope Apartment Building Damaged In Overnight Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A New Hope apartment building was badly damaged in a fire early Thursday morning.

Fire crews were called to a complex on the 6000 block of West Broadway Avenue just after midnight.

Upon arrival, crews found a first floor unit heavily engulfed in flames. The fire quickly spread to the second and third floors.

Crews were able to quell the fire and everyone made it out safely.

Three units were damaged by fire, six others had heavy smoke damage.

The American Red Cross came on the scene later and is helping 25 people affected by the fire.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
