Nerds Gaming Into Wee Hours To Raise Money For Kids Hospital

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Saturday night, 50 self-proclaimed "nerds" are playing games to heal kids.

The Nerdery is hosting a 24-hour game-a-thon as part of "Extra Life" weekend.

It raises money through marathon game-playing.

The Nerdery's money will go toward Gillette Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, in honor of the son of one of its nerds who has cerebral palsy.

The games started at 8 a.m. Saturday  and continue through Sunday  morning.

So far, they've raised nearly $11,000.

If you want to help, you can visit the Extra Life donation page.
