Negotiations Continue Between Allina, Nurses

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Negotiations between Allina Health and its union nurses will continue Wednesday, just a day after they started up again.

The nurses have been on strike since Sept. 5. They went on strike over workplace safety issues and Allina's new insurance plan.

More than 4,000 initially joined the strike, but since then some have crossed the picket line and gone back to work.

On Tuesday, Nurses protested outside a downtown Minneapolis hotel where General Mills was set to hold its shareholders meeting.

A General Mills executive is on the board of directors for Allina Health.

Allina Health told WCCO they met with the union until they agreed to adjourn for the night Tuesday.

They said they will reconvene Wednesday morning to continue negotiating.
