NCF Honors 'Father Of The Year' In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – In a Father's Day weekend tradition, Minnesota's "Father of the Year" was honored in Minneapolis Saturday morning.

Nine Minnesota dads were chosen to represent their families as finalists in the National Center for Fathering's "Father of the Year" contest.

The men were nominated by their children through NCF's "What My Father Means To Me" essay contest last February.

Students across the state in grades one through 12 were invited to participate. Five finalists were chosen from each grade. Judges then narrowed the 60 candidates down to nine, who were those honored Saturday.

The National Center for Fathering has been recognizing Minnesota Dads through the "What My Father Means To Me" essay contest for 20 years.
