Navy Planners Working Out Details For Week-Long Fargo Event

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Navy planners are in land-locked North Dakota and Minnesota to work out details for a week-long summer program that will feature the Blue Angels flight demonstration team and other promotional events.

Navy Week is coming to Fargo on July 20-26. In addition to the Blue Angels, it will include scheduled appearances by the Leap Frogs parachute team, bomb disposal teams, admirals, and the Navy Band Great Lakes.

The lead planner for the Fargo event, Lt. James Adams, says the majority of Navy enlistees are typically from the Midwest so it's important to give people in the area a chance to meet and talk with Navy leaders and others.

Adams says planners have been meeting with Fargo and neighboring Moorhead, Minnesota, officials to map out the best locations for various events.
