Murder Victim Identified In Columbia Heights Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police have identified the murder victim in a fatal Columbia Heights shooting Saturday.

According to Columbia Heights police, the shooting happened just before midnight Saturday at a home on the 1200 block of Circle Terrace. Police say there was a gathering at the residence and that multiple shots were fired.

Before officers arrived at the scene, several people – including at least one victim – had left the home.

The victim, 20-year-old Mohamud Abdiwahab Hilowle of Minneapolis, was brought by acquaintances to Unity Hospital. He was then transported to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he later died.

The medical examiner said he suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say they are searching for multiple persons of interest in connection to the shooting, which remains under investigation. No one is currently in custody.
