MSU-Mankato To Host Fundraising Benefit For Isaac Kolstad

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minnesota State University – Mankato will host a fundraising benefit for former football player Isaac Kolstad.

Kolstad suffered severe head trauma earlier this month after allegedly being punched, hitting his head on pavement and then being kicked in the head. The incident took place in downtown Mankato shortly after the bars closed.

Two men, including former Gophers football quarterback Philip Nelson, have each been charged with two felony counts of assault in connection with the incident.

The fundraising benefit will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 1 at the Myers Field House on Stadium, Road. All funds will go to assist Kolstad and his family in his recovery.
