MSU Mankato Cancels Hockey Game Due To Flu

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — An early start to the flu season has claimed its latest victim: collegiate hockey.

Minnesota State University-Mankato cancelled its Saturday home game against Princeton because several players are out with the flu. The game will be recorded as "no contest" and not a forfeit because it was cancelled due to illness.

Kevin Buisman, Mankato's athletic director, says there aren't enough healthy players to ice a team.

The Mavericks beat Princeton 5-0 on Friday night. Plans for ticket reimbursement for Saturday's game will be announced at a later date.
