Mpls. North H.S. Attends First State Basketball Tournament In 13 Years

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Lots of school spirit is pouring into Minneapolis Wednesday for the MSHL Boys' State Basketball tournament.

One team won't have to travel very far.

Minneapolis North is going to its first state tournament in 13 years. Back then, North was a Class 4A school. Now, it's a Class 1A school, and the Polars are the number one seed.

Many of these players played on the state runner-up football team, which makes them hungry for a title.

Minneapolis North will play Thursday, but Wednesday there are 12 other games to watch in Class 2A, 3A and 4A.

Six games will be at Target Center and six will be at Williams Arena.

The tournament runs through this Saturday.
