Mpls., St. Paul Ranks No. 9 For 'Coffee Snobs'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Whether you like your coffee black or prefer a decaf soy latte with an extra shot, extra hot, no whip and room for cream, it seems our tastes for a cup o'Joe are enough to classify us as "coffee snobs."

That's according to a new study from the Redfin Real Estate Blog. Minneapolis-St. Paul ranked No. 9 on the list of 10 best cities for coffee snobs.

The study created a ranking based off the number of indie coffee shops per capita (as defined by Foursquare data) and the average price people spend on their daily cup of coffee.

The study listed Peace Coffee as the highest rated indie coffee shop in the Twin Cities metro and said the area with the most indie coffee shops per capita was downtown St. Paul.

No surprise, Seattle, home of Starbucks, was named the No. 1 city of coffee snobs. Following Seattle, Portland was No. 2 and Boulder, Colo. was No. 3.

Madison, Wis. was also on the list at No. 7.
