Mpls. School District Cuts Ties With Publisher Over Racist Books

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis Public Schools has cut ties with a publisher that provided books with racial stereotypes.

The books were part of a reading curriculum created by the Utah-based company Reading Horizons.

On Tuesday night, the school board decided to end its contract with the publisher.

Reading Horizons says it is deeply sorry and is dedicated to implementing meaningful long-term solutions to improve its resources for students across the country.
