Mpls. Radio Host Celebrates Bob Dylan's Birthday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One of Minnesota's most famous people celebrates a big birthday Saturday.

Bob Dylan turned 73.

Dylan is originally from Hibbing, Minn.

His career spans decades and genres, and has helped shape music as we know it today.

The WCCO crew caught up with radio host and local musician, Paul Metsa, who is celebrating Dylan with an inside peek at some of the artists Dylan played with and influenced in his early days.

"He's touched so many people. I was able to talk to people that have influenced him in the Hibbing and Dinkytown times that he spent, but also musicians that he influenced as he went out into the world; which is thousands of us," Metsa said.

Part two of the Dylan birthday tribute is on AM950 at 6 p.m. Saturday with another replay at noon Sunday.
