Mpls. Police: Suspect Vehicle Located, 2 Juveniles Arrested In Drive-By Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police say they have arrested two juveniles in connection to a drive-by shooting.

According to police spokesman John Elder, police officers from the 3rd Precinct were on a routine patrol when they noticed a vehicle that matched the description of a wanted vehicle.

Elder says the suspect vehicle may have been used in a recent shooting where someone from the vehicle fired multiple shots into a residence.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver attempted to elude the officers, but pulled over due to the number of squads in the area. Two unidentified juveniles were then arrested.

Elder says narcotics were observed in plain sight inside the car and a handgun was recovered. The origin of the handgun is being researched.

The juveniles were booked into the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center.
