Mpls. Police: Pedestrian Hurt After Collision With Squad Car

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police say a pedestrian is in the hospital after a collision with a squad car Wednesday morning.

According to Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder, shortly before 9 a.m. a police officer called for an ambulance on 34th Street East and Nicollet Avenue South, where a collision occurred between a pedestrian and a Minneapolis squad car.

The pedestrian was then transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

A witness on scene told WCCO's Ashley Roberts that a woman ran into the street at fast speed and collided with the police car. The witness also said the police car wasn't driving fast.

The police's traffic division is now reconstructing the accident.
