Mpls. Police Go Christmas Shopping For Kids In Need

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Some Minneapolis children are going to be getting some special Christmas presents this year.

On Tuesday morning, school administrators and Minneapolis police officers from the 4th Precinct went shopping at the downtown Target.

Many of the kids who'll get the presents are students at Lucy Laney School in north Minneapolis.

School administrators chose kids who are most in need to get the gifts.

The money for the presents was donated by former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Greg Jennings and his wife.

The police officers will deliver about $90 worth of presents to each child.

Target is also donating winter necessities like hats, scarves and mittens.
