Mpls. Police: 25 Car Break-Ins In 2 Weeks In Phillips

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Police are warning residents after 25 car break-ins were reported in the Phillips area during the past two weeks.

Police say 21 of the 25 break-ins happened in daylight hours, and most of the thefts involved items that were left out and visible.

Car owners are advised to lock their valuables in the trunk before they reach their destination.

Also, car windows should be closed and vehicles should never be left unattended when they are running.

Police urge anyone who sees suspicious behavior to call 911, and call 311 to report theft and vandalism.
